Ce document juridique est rédigé en anglais. Écrivez-nous si vous avez besoin d'aide dans votre langue.

Draft pending review by a legal professional.

1. Who we are

QuickSite is a trading name of Elie Botombe, a sole proprietor. We design websites and set up domains and search presence for small businesses. For the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where it applies, the UK and EU GDPR, we are the responsible party (data controller) for the personal information described in this policy.

Our address is Townsview, Johannesburg, South Africa.

2. What we collect

We keep this to what we need to talk to you and deliver your project.

  • Messages you send us on WhatsApp or by email, including your name, phone number or email address, business name and anything you tell us about your project.
  • Material you give us for your website, such as logos, photos, text and prices.
  • Domain registration details, if you ask us to register a domain for you.
  • Website analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies: the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser type, and an approximate location derived from your connection.
  • A record of your cookie choice, stored in your own browser.

3. What we do not collect

This website has no accounts, no payment forms and no contact form that stores data. Previews of demo sites are samples and do not collect anything you type into them.

4. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your information to reply to your enquiries, prepare quotes, build and launch your website, register domains you ask for, and keep records we are legally required to keep. Our lawful basis is steps taken at your request before and during a contract, our legitimate interest in running a small business, and legal obligation. Analytics run only on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

5. Cookies and similar storage

We use two kinds of browser storage. Strictly necessary storage remembers your cookie choice. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are loaded only after you press Accept analytics. If you decline, nothing is set and no analytics script runs. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us deliver the service:

  • WhatsApp (Meta) and Gmail (Google), which carry the messages you send us.
  • Amazon Web Services, which hosts this website.
  • Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics.
  • Domain registrars and hosting or search services we set up on your behalf, with the details needed to do so.

7. International transfers

Some of these providers process data outside South Africa, including in the United States and the European Union. We rely on their published safeguards and on the cross-border conditions in section 72 of POPIA.

8. How long we keep it

We keep project correspondence and files for as long as needed to deliver the project and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and then delete or anonymise them. Analytics data is retained according to the Google Analytics settings in force.

9. Your rights

You may ask us to confirm whether we hold information about you, to give you a copy, to correct it, or to delete it. You may object to our processing or withdraw consent for analytics at any time. If you are in the EU or UK you also have the rights set out in the GDPR, including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

To use any of these rights, email us at the address below. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforeg.org.za.

10. Security

We use reputable providers, restrict access to project files and use HTTPS on this website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted here.

13. Contact

Questions or requests about your information can be sent to the email address in the footer of every page, or posted to Townsview, Johannesburg, South Africa.
